How to do Laundry the Downy Way

Faqs

How do I use Downy Infusions in the wash?
Simply add Downy Infusions to your fabric softener drawer. For top-loaders, you can also add directly to your washer drum during the rinse cycle, or use the Downy Ball if you don't feel like waiting around for the rinse to begin. Go to OLV/LINK for more information!

What is Downy Infusions?
Downy Infusions are Downy's premium collection, infusing fabrics with luxe fragrances that you don’t just breathe in—you experience. Like fine fragrance for your fabrics! Infusions provides all the softness, fabric protection and static reduction benefits you love from Downy liquid fabric conditioners.

I love Downy Infusions! What other products should I try?
We’re so glad! You might enjoy Fresh Protect In-Wash Odor Shield: use with detergent and Downy Infusions liquid fabric conditioner for 24-hour odor neutralization—like deodorant for your clothes!

Do I need to use detergent with Downy Infusions?

Yes, for best results, use WITH detergent. Downy Infusions is a fabric conditioner that will provide your clothing with luxe scent (like fine fragrance for your fabrics), softness, static reduction and protection from the laundry damage of stretching, fading and fuzz.

How is Downy Infusions different from Unstopables?
Downy Infusions is a fabric conditioner with premium, luxe scents; Unstopables are long-lasting scent boosters, not conditioners. Fabric conditioners provide scent, softness, static reduction and protection from the laundry damage of stretching, fading and fuzz.

What's the difference between a fabric conditioner and a dryer sheet?
Both provide fabrics with scent, softness and fight static; however, dryer sheets are heat activated in the dryer, whereas liquid fabric softeners are more easily infused in the wash. Additionally, fabric conditioners reduce wrinkles, provide for easy ironing and protect from stretching, fading and fuzz that occur in both the wash & dry processes.

None of that flowery smell

My husband and I both love this scent. He doesn't want to smell like flowers and if I am honest, I don't want to either. This has a soft, more masculine smell and it does not affect his skin allergies.Sadly, because we like it so much, the universe has made it really hard to find in both Canada and the USA. Which in our experience, means it will be discontinued soon. I really hope not!

Too Thick!

I tried Downy Infusions for the first time in October. The first two bottles that I used were great! It's now late November and I'm on my third bottle. I too had the hardest time getting the product out of the bottle. I also noticed that after the wash was completed that there was still product left in the machine dispenser. I am thinking that there must be something wrong with the product. I had to take the dispenser drawer out of the machine to remove the rest of the product. I also noticed that it gunk had built up in the channel that the detergent and bleach travel through. I would suggest that everyone check the consistency of the product before purchase. This brand new 1.23 Liter bottle of Ultra Downy infusions Botanical Mist will be going in the trash because it is unusable. I would love to continue to use this product but must be careful to inspect it before purchase.

We're so sorry to hear about your experience, James! It may be helpful to know that the softener can still be used. You’d just want to mix a capful of softener with 1/2 cup of warm water until it’s blended together. The resulting mixture will be about 3 medium loads worth of softener and can be added to your dispenser as normal. If the softener is not mixing well, we’d recommend discontinuing use. We'd also like to learn more about this, so please give us a call at (800) 688-7638.

Great Scent - Thick consistency - Too thick!

Loved this scent so much I purchased the giant container - 174 loads. Big mistake since after using at most 1/3 of the product, it became SO thick that it wouldn't even come out of the dispenser. Waste of money since I need to trash the rest of the product. I suppose it took me too long to use it up, but, if that's the case, where is the expiration date on the bottle? Will not purchase again.

That's certainly not the experience we want you to have when you use our fabric conditioners, so we're very sorry to hear this! Sometimes this can happen when the liquid is exposed to extreme temperatures so we always recommend storing your Downy in a cool, dry place for best results. The expiration date can also be found on the cap of the bottle. We'd never want to leave you disappointed, so we'd like to speak with you further so we can try to help. Give us a call at (800) 688-7638.
