How to do Laundry the Downy Way

Faqs

How do I use Downy Infusions in the wash?
Simply add Downy Infusions to your fabric softener drawer. For top-loaders, you can also add directly to your washer drum during the rinse cycle, or use the Downy Ball if you don't feel like waiting around for the rinse to begin. Go to OLV/LINK for more information!

What is Downy Infusions?
Downy Infusions are Downy's premium collection, infusing fabrics with luxe fragrances that you don’t just breathe in—you experience. Like fine fragrance for your fabrics! Infusions provides all the softness, fabric protection and static reduction benefits you love from Downy liquid fabric conditioners.

I love Downy Infusions! What other products should I try?
We’re so glad! You might enjoy Fresh Protect In-Wash Odor Shield: use with detergent and Downy Infusions liquid fabric conditioner for 24-hour odor neutralization—like deodorant for your clothes!

Do I need to use detergent with Downy Infusions?

Yes, for best results, use WITH detergent. Downy Infusions is a fabric conditioner that will provide your clothing with luxe scent (like fine fragrance for your fabrics), softness, static reduction and protection from the laundry damage of stretching, fading and fuzz.

How is Downy Infusions different from Unstopables?
Downy Infusions is a fabric conditioner with premium, luxe scents; Unstopables are long-lasting scent boosters, not conditioners. Fabric conditioners provide scent, softness, static reduction and protection from the laundry damage of stretching, fading and fuzz.

What's the difference between a fabric conditioner and a dryer sheet?
Both provide fabrics with scent, softness and fight static; however, dryer sheets are heat activated in the dryer, whereas liquid fabric softeners are more easily infused in the wash. Additionally, fabric conditioners reduce wrinkles, provide for easy ironing and protect from stretching, fading and fuzz that occur in both the wash & dry processes.

Great Scent - Thick consistency - Too thick!

Loved this scent so much I purchased the giant container - 174 loads. Big mistake since after using at most 1/3 of the product, it became SO thick that it wouldn't even come out of the dispenser. Waste of money since I need to trash the rest of the product. I suppose it took me too long to use it up, but, if that's the case, where is the expiration date on the bottle? Will not purchase again.

Downy The Downy Team 05/21/19

That's certainly not the experience we want you to have when you use our fabric conditioners, so we're very sorry to hear this! Sometimes this can happen when the liquid is exposed to extreme temperatures so we always recommend storing your Downy in a cool, dry place for best results. The expiration date can also be found on the cap of the bottle. We'd never want to leave you disappointed, so we'd like to speak with you further so we can try to help. Give us a call at (800) 688-7638.

Great smell, nice product but 62 oz has bad grip

I love this product. I bought the 62 oz size because I got a good deal on it. Big mistake. Sure, the product is great, but the handle grip is too large for the average women to GRIP THE HANDLE AND HOLD THE BOTTLE, as it is TOO LARGE. Love it, but fix that handle. Admittedly, I am a Downy addict and it is the only softener product line I use. I tried going to rehab for my Downy addiction, but they would not accept me in the program (ha ha).

C’mon

Please rethink your decision to discontinue citrus spice downy. It was my all time favorite softener and scent. I would hoard bottles, as bottles would fly off shelves upon delivery I’ve tried remaining scents, nothing comes close- I switched brands unfortunately

I do recommend this product
